Why do we usually go to the market? To buy fresh produce and cook wonderful meals. But in Ecuador, no need for that. You can go to the market to eat there and indulge in a huge plate of llapingacho, freshly made empanadas, a bowl of ceviche soup or fresh fruit juice.

Jugo (juice) and batido (milk shake) stand

Serving papaya juice

A llapingacho cook!

A serving of llapingacho: potato tortillas, fried egg, chorizo, lettuce, bettroot salad and a slice of avocado

Ceviche stand

Making empanadas

Great photos, Laurene! I love the colors. It’s just about lunch time here, so they made me hungry!
