The women of Otavalo wear garments that are very distinctive from their Quechua fellows. A long black skirt, a white blouse with embroidered collar and golden plastic beads are the typical Otavaleña’s outfit.

Les femmes d’Otavalo ont des vêtements très distincts de leurs compatriotes quechuas. Longue jupe noire, chemisier blanc à col brodé et collier de perles en plastique doré, tel est l’habit traditionnel de la femme otavaleña.
